A Guide to Our Local Area

Located in the south west corner of the West Midlands our two traditional Estate Agents Offices are based in Stourbridge and Halesowen town centres.

As two local towns situated in what is traditionally known as ‘The Black Country’ the area is steeped in history and played a major part in the Industrial Revolution. Halesowen was once renowned for nail making and whilst the heavy industry from long ago has long since gone, Stourbridge and the surrounding areas still remaining a major centre for glass production.

Nowadays, both are small towns in their own right with bustling shopping centres. Just a mere 7 miles from Birmingham City Centre and close proximity to Junction 3 of the M5 motorway, Halesowen offers great commuting possibilities into Birmingham and its surrounding areas.

Whilst a little further away at 13 miles from Birmingham, Stourbridge Junction train station provides services that will get you into Birmingham Snow Hill station in around 30 minutes. With construction for the proposed HS2 set to start towards the end of 2017 the West Midlands is set to become a major economic centre and is already starting to see an influx of people migrating from the South East.

Sitting on the edge of green belt with unspoilt countryside of North Worcestershire and South Staffordshire wrapping around the South Western edge of our area of coverage, the Clent Hills lie to the South and Kinver Edge to the West. There are fantastic opportunities to get ‘out and about’ with a multitude of walks, cycle tracks and open parks accommodating dog owners, families, walkers and cyclists alike. Miles of canal tow paths provide idyllic pockets of nature, even in some of the most built up areas.

The sheer diversity of the area provides a plethora of different properties from small flats to rent in Halesowen through to large detached houses for sale in Stourbridge.  A step across into the green belt instantly offers a choice of substantial houses and country homes in villages such as Clent, Hagley, Belbroughton and Kinver.

We are blessed with excellent schools and educational facilities with many of them rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Some of the most sought after primary schools include Lutley School and Our Lady & St Kenelms in Halesowen and Greenfield Primary and Pedmore C of E in Stourbridge. A similar offering is available throughout the region for secondary education with Earls High School in Halesowen and Redhill School in Stourbridge. Haybridge in Hagley, consistently proves to be one of the most over-subscribed schools in the area.

We have great sports facilities to suit almost every sports enthusiasts needs including rugby, football, cricket, plenty of golf clubs and running clubs. Stourbridge Rugby Club competes at a National level and Stourbridge Football club (Known locally as the Glassboys) recently reached the third round of the FA Cup. In addition both Dudley MBC and Sandwell MBC have a superb selection of Leisure centres and Recreational parks.
