There’s no doubt that the Government’s holiday on Stamp Duty until Wednesday 31st March 2021, has had the desired positive effect on the housing market, with houses selling in record time.
However, it is worth noting that the reduced Stamp Duty only applies on sales that complete by the deadline. With increased demand on Conveyancers, completion tracking times are averaging 4 weeks longer than usual. The Christmas break could increase transaction times even further.
With this in mind, October is the ideal time to present your house to the market and take advantage of the Stamp Duty holiday.
